Chiropractic medicine
Shannon Ruby of McDonald has earned the degree of doctor of chiropractic medicine from National University of Health Sciences in Chicago.
Dr. Ruby is the daughter of Pamela and Charles Ruby of McDonald. She is a McDonald High School graduate, earned a bachelor of biology degree from Youngstown State University and received a bachelor of science degree from National University of Health Sciences.
She has joined a multidisciplinary practice, North Shore Physical Medicine in Niles, Ill.
LAW DEGREE
Preparing for bar exam
Louis R. Garland of Boardman has earned his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh's School of Law.
He has interned for Judge Beth Smith of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court and Atty. Gene Smith. He also was a law clerk for Judge James Evans of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. He will take the Pennsylvania Bar Examination in July.
Garland graduated from Boardman High School in 1994 and earned his bachelor's degree in criminology in 1999 from Ohio State University, where he was on the dean's list on several occasions.
He is the son of Tom and Denise Nycz of Boardman and Larry Garland of Girard and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Louis M. Young of Boardman, who helped rear him.
