Animal Welfare League sets golf classic



Games and prizes will highlight the event to be held at Avalon South Golf Course.
HOWLAND -- The sixth annual golf classic sponsored by the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County will take place June 18 at Avalon South Golf Course.
Registration and lunch are planned at 11 a.m., and a shotgun start is scheduled for noon. There also will be a catered buffet dinner.
Tickets are $65 per player. Golfers may form their own teams or the animal welfare league will group players. Cash prizes will be awarded for three places in men's, women's and mixed teams. There will be a hole-in-one prize at four holes, a trip to Scotland and Ireland, a Bahamas golf vacation, a Sea Mist golf trip and watches.
Games will include the longest putt, closest to the pin, accuracy drive and hit the green. There also will be a 50-50 raffle, door prizes and a Chinese auction.
