A new shelter for animals will be built with proceeds from the event.
SALEM -- The Salem Humane Society is sponsoring its second annual All-Breed Stampede dog walk in an effort to raise funds for the building of a new shelter for animals.
The fund-raiser is planned for June 14 at Waterworth Memorial Park with registration from 8 to 8:45 a.m. The scheduled activities include a one-mile walk at 9 a.m., two-mile walk at 9:30, three-mile walk at 10 and post-walk contests at 11.

Post-walk events will include canine talent and costume contests. An award will be presented to one winner in each event.
