WARREN LEAGUE Junior women install new slate of officers



Membership is open to women interested in bettering their community.
WARREN -- Warren Junior Women's League, GFWC/OFWC, held election and installation of officers for 2003-2004 during a meeting May 14 at the Avalon Inn and Resort in Howland.
Inducted were Stephanie Furano, president; Dorothy Sideropolis, first vice president; Peggy Boyd, second vice president; Cheryl Shinosky, secretary; and Renee Maiorca, treasurer.
The purpose of the organization is to bring together women interested in literary, artistic and philanthropic pursuits with the aim of helping each other and benefiting the community.
Among the league's fund-raising activities will be a golf outing benefit to be held June 7 at the Avalon in Howland and a holiday house event to be held at the historic Kinsman home from Sept. 18 to 24. Dates will be selected for an October crafts auction and a November champagne luncheon.
Funds raised by the group will provide scholarships for women and support for Trumbull County Children's Service Board, Someplace Safe, New Life Maternity Home, Trumbull New Theatre, SCOPE, Relay for Life, the summer enrichment program for handicapped students, local arts and other on-going projects and community organizations.
