* Let your feet do the walking to an entertaining and educational look at how shoes can give cultural clues. Visit the exhibition, "Global Shoes," on display through July 27 at Fawick Gallery, Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Visitors may try on shoes from more than 40 countries, design their own pairs of shoes and try to make a moccasin.
FRIDAY
* The first of three art installments, "Whenever I See," opens at McDonough Museum of Art's Installation and Raw Space Galleries, Wick Avenue, as the collaborative effort between Cleveland artist Blake Cook and pupils from the Ursuline Sisters HIV/AIDS Ministry and Casa Madre Children's Program. The exhibit continues through June 21. The other installments will be "The Moon" from June 24-July 17 and "I'll Think of You" July 18-25.
* Vocalists Elizabeth Leslie and Amy Russell, accompanied by Anthony Ruggiero on piano, will be featured in "Music at Madison," a cabaret and sing-along starring Rodd Coonce planned at 8 p.m. at Dorian Books, 802 Elm St., Youngstown. * Vintage is the rage as older musicians continue their careers. Area musician Randy P. Strader continues to rock and celebrates his 60th birthday during a performance with his band, Galaxy, at 10 p.m. at Forest Lane Lounge, 29564 U.S. Route 30, between Hanoverton and Kensington. Galaxy also performs during Salem Bike Night from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday behind BB Rooners, 256 E. State St., Salem.

* Performances by the American Wind Symphony Orchestra will highlight the second annual Beaver Valley International Arts Festival from Sunday through July 6 at Riverfront Park, Rochester, Pa., about 25 miles from Pittsburgh. Conducted by founder-director Robert A. Boudreau, the orchestra will perform world premieres of six works by international composers. * The Cleveland-based Contemporary Youth Orchestra will present the world premiere of "Classical Nash" featuring Graham Nash, an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, during a concert at 7:30 Wednesday at Cleveland State University's Waetjen Auditorium. * The men and machines of the O'Reilly World of Outlaws roll into the area May 30 for a show at Sharon Speedway in Hartford. Reserved seats are $27 for those 14 years and older and $14 for children from 3 to 13 years old. General admission seats are $25 for adults and $12 for 6- to 13-year-olds. * The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Cleveland, will present the exhibit "The Greatest Album Covers That Never Were" starting May 30. The exhibit will run through Sept. 28 in the Ahmet M. Ertegun Exhibition Hall. Music archivist Michael Ochs and fine artist Craig Butler asked 100 graphic and fine artists to create fantasy album covers for their favorite recording artists.
* Ohio Celebration rocks with a lineup of Ohio bands from 1 to 5 p.m. May 31 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Playing the free concerts will be: Cletus Black at 1, The Bryson Group at 1:40, Boxer (with Jim Bonfani of The Raspberries) at 2:20, Alex Bevan at 3, Music Explosion at 3:40, Baskerville Hounds at 4:20 and Bizarros at 5. The event is being held in conjunction with the Ohio Bicentennial and the "Hang on Sloopy: The Music of Ohio" exhibit at the museum.
* Cuyahoga Valley Heritage Festival, featuring the Ohio Bicentennial bell casting, is planned May 31 and June 1 at the new Lock 3 Live! Park in downtown Akron. Children's craft activities will be coordinated by Akron Art Museum and Cuyahoga Valley National Park Service. Artisans will demonstrate crafts including doll-making, chair caning, spinning and weaving. Highlights of the free festival will be the melting of the bronze ingots, cracking the bell mold and then ringing the new bell.
