Three-year starter Zach Williams will leave the Ohio State basketball team to transfer to an undetermined school, the university announced today.
Williams, a 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward, was involved in a sideline argument with Ohio State's coaches during the Big Ten tournament championship game on March 16. Williams subsequently left the bench area and disappeared in the direction of the United Center locker room before reappearing several minutes later. He did not return to the floor.
In an unrelated action, the Big Ten reprimanded Williams for lightly striking Wisconsin player Alando Tucker on the chin when their paths crossed after a timeout during a quarterfinal game in the conference tournament two days earlier.
