INDIANS NOTEBOOK From Jacobs Field

Ready to go: Jason Bere's rehabilitation from a sore right shoulder reached completion Saturday night when he struck out 11 and allowed only three hits over 62/3 scoreless innings at Triple-A Buffalo. "The off-speed stuff was working pretty good," Bere said. "I cut loose some fastballs, too, but my location was better with the other stuff. The big thing was that I felt good and loose. I'm ready to do whatever they want here in Cleveland, now." The right-hander went on the disabled list April 4 and is expected to be activated this week.
One up, one down: The Indians purchased right-hander Jason Phillips from Buffalo and designated right-hander Jerrod Riggan for assignment Sunday. Phillips had elbow surgery Sept. 11, but went 6-0 with a 2.70 ERA in seven outings at Buffalo. The 29-year-old signed with Cleveland as a minor-league free agent in 2001. He went 1-3 with a 4.97 ERA in eight games with the Indians in 2002. Riggan, 28, acquired in the multiplayer deal that sent all-star second baseman Roberto Alomar to the Mets after the 2001 season, has been hit hard in Cleveland. He gave up seven hits and four runs in four innings after being recalled Tuesday from Buffalo. He had a 7.64 ERA and allowed 53 hits in 33 innings with the Indians in 2002.
On base: Milton Bradley extended his streak of reaching base safely to 28 games -- the longest active streak in the majors. ... Cleveland is 7-8 in May after going 7-20 in April.
