These two local Ohio Historical Society sites would be closed if proposed budget cuts approved by the Ohio Senate stand:
YOUNGSTOWN HISTORICAL CENTEROF INDUSTRY & amp; LABOR
CONTENTS: Dramatic overview of the iron and steel industry in the Youngstown area. Displays include clothing and tools from factory workers, actual batches of steel produced before most of the local mills closed, hundreds of photographs and life-size scenes depicting lives of steel workers.
WHERE: 151 West Wood St., Youngstown.
HOURS: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
MUSEUM OF CERAMICS
CONTENTS: Large collection of the various ceramics produced in the Columbiana area during the late 19th century. Various pictures, artifacts and exhibits show how the ceramic industry affected the area from 1840 to 1930.
WHERE: 400 East Fifth St., East Liverpool.
HOURS: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
