Ripken believes Rose should be in Hall
DENVER -- Cal Ripken believes Pete Rose should be allowed in the Hall of Fame, but he's not sure if it would be a good idea to let the all-time hits leader back in baseball.
Ripken, in Denver as part of a speaking tour, said Saturday that Rose's reinstatement and his entrance into the Hall of Fame are two separate issues.
"The first one is really easy. He should be in the Hall of Fame," said Ripken, who also threw out the first pitch before the Colorado Rockies' game against the Montreal Expos. "His career should be celebrated in the Hall of Fame. He has the most hits."
Because of Rose's actions, Ripken is not convinced that he should be allowed back in baseball.
Ripken became baseball's iron man after shattering Lou Gehrig's record for consecutive games with 2,632. He is one of only seven players with more than 3,000 hits and 400 homers. He played 21 seasons with the Baltimore Orioles, leaving as the team's leader in just about every offensive category.
Martinez, Campbell fight to a draw
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- Tiger Martinez had to be content with a draw instead of an upset victory Saturday.

Martinez (20-2-1) was penalized one point for holding in the fifth round and also was knocked down in the eighth, which cost him crucial points.
