NBA DRAFT James, Anthony lead list of 73 underclassmen ready for draft

There are a record 31 international players included in that list.
NEW YORK (AP) -- High school senior LeBron James and Syracuse freshman Carmelo Anthony head a list of 73 players who declared for early entry in the NBA draft.
The list was announced by the league Friday and includes a record 31 international players.
James, expected to be the No. 1 pick, played in the national spotlight at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron. He was one of six high school seniors to apply for the draft. The others were Ndubi Ebi of Houston, James Lang of Birmingham, Ala., Travis Outlaw of Starkville, Miss., Kendrick Perkins of Beaumont, Texas, and Charlie Villanueva of Blairstown, N.J.
Anthony led Syracuse to the NCAA title and was picked as the Most Outstanding Player at the Final Four. Two other Final Four players, T.J. Ford of Texas and Dwyane Wade of Marquette, also filed for the draft.
Besides Anthony, other freshmen declaring were Chris Bosh of Georgia Tech, Jonathan Hargett of West Virginia, Sani Ibrahim of the College of Southern Idaho, Antonio Lawrence of San Jose State, and Erazem Lorbek of Michigan State.
Seven-foot Serbian
The international players who filed include Serbian teammates Darko Milicic and Slavko Vrancs, and Pavel Podkolzine of Italy. Milicic, expected to be a top-five pick, is 7-feet tall, while Vrancs and Podkolzine are both 7-4.
Last year, 14 international players applied for early entry and the previous high was 17 in 2001.
Players seeking early entry were required to notify the league by last Monday. They may withdraw their names until June 19. If a high school or college player has signed with an agent and decides to withdraw, they are no longer eligible to play in the NCAA.
The draft will be held June 26 at Madison Square Garden.
