Iowa Planned Parenthood CEO to speak

YOUNGSTOWN -- Jill June, CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater Iowa, is the featured speaker for the May 29 annual dinner of Planned Parenthood of Mahoning Valley at 5:30 p.m. at Mill Creek Park's Fellows Riverside Gardens. June faced jail when she refused the county attorney's request for the medical records of all women who had pregnancy tests between Aug. 15, 2001, and May 30, 2002, at PPGI's Storm Lake clinic. The subpoenas were eventually withdrawn and the court orders vacated.
June was named one of Ms. Magazine's 2002 Women of the Year and one of 21 leaders of the 21st Century by Women's News.
She also received the Alfred F. Moran Public Advocacy Award for her courage in the face of terrorism and the Ruth Green Award from Planned Parenthood Federation of American in recognition of her leadership and service.
