REORGANIZATION Sweet Adelines hold installation ceremony



Women sing four-part harmony and entertain throughout the area.
HUBBARD -- The Spirit of the Valley Chapter of the Sweet Adeline's installed recently-elected officers and board members during a meeting held May 12 at The Gentry in Hubbard.
Presiding for the ceremony was Margie Price, education director for Region 17, who encouraged officers and members to have a positive attitude and listen to each other in order to ensure the success of the chorus.
Inducted for 2003-2004 were: Shelly Gerassimakis, president; Janet Cretella, vice president; Marilyn Van Fosan, secretary; and Joyce Landle, treasurer.
Seated as board members were Meriam Shaw, Beverly Miller and Theresa Casale.
Entertainment was provided by Heart Songs, a Region 17 quartet.
The chorus received a second place award in the small chorus division during recent competitions in Cleveland.
The group
The 43 members of Spirit of the Valley sing four-part harmony and rehearse at 7 p.m. each Monday at Faith Community Church of Christ, Midlothian Boulevard, Youngstown.
Members represent Warren, Cortland, Boardman, Canfield, Niles, Girard, Hubbard, Mineral Ridge, Lake Milton, New Middletown, Struthers, Lowellville, Leetonia and Mogadore in Ohio and Hermitage, Sharon, Farrell and Oil City in Pennsylvania.
The group provides entertainment at community events, for business organizations and churches and at nursing homes.
