YOUNGSTOWN \ Spending and contracts



The city's board of control approved these contracts and other spending items Thursday:
A $953,725 contract to Shelley and Sands for street paving in 2003.
A $550,137 contract to Thomas Pallotta for the rehabilitation of Sheridan Road from Midlothian Boulevard to Meadowbrook Avenue.
$14,769 for the municipal court to spend on computer servers and other hardware for the court system's upgrade.
A $46,160 contract with Fisher Engineering Associates to provide contract administration, construction inspection and materials testing for Sheridan Road rehabilitation.
A $9,000 reimbursement for Boston Metal Products for site investigation at the Ohio Works Industrial Park.
Severance of $8,880 for Albert Martinko, a police officer who resigned July 16, 1999.
Severance of $1,038 for Richard Holzchuh, a police detective sergeant who retired Aug. 10, 1998.
A $6,172 contract for the fire department to buy computer hardware and software for fire incident reporting.
A $3,660 payment to Romett Inc. for emergency repairs at 10 Wells Court, which was damaged during the repair of a water shutoff valve by the water department.
A $7,300 fa & ccedil;ade renovation loan for the Western Reserve Transit Authority. The project total is $18,150.
