Surprise party held to mark Cooper jubilee

XHUBBARD -- A surprise party was held from 2 to 6 p.m. May 17 at The Gallery in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cooper, 1555 Thomas Road, who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
Invitations for the festivity were extended by their family, Joe Cooper Jr., John and Cyndi Cooper, and Shari Cooper, all of Hubbard, and Laurie and Jay Welch of Youngstown. Also participating were their six grandchildren. There is also one great-grandchild in the family.
Mr. Cooper and the former Sara Jones were married May 21, 1953, in Youngstown. He served with the U.S. Army and was the owner-operator of Joe's Auto Body in Youngstown for 40 years.
His wife is a homemaker.
