Conflict of interest ruling

Conflict of interest ruling
McDONALD -- A village administrator is facing a conflict of interest after a ruling by the Ohio attorney general.
Attorney General James Petro ruled McDonald Administrator Robert O'Connell's supervisory position in the village could conflict with his appointed position on the Trumbull County Board of Health.
Petro said the two positions are incompatible since one position is a check upon the other, and that duties for the health department could overlap with those of administrator.
O'Connell was elected to the board March 12 to fill a vacancy when Jim Walters' term expired.
