ANDOVER -- A pair of seniors led the Ursuline High School baseball team past Pymatuning Valley 7-2 in a Division III sectional tournament game Wednesday.
Josh Conkey (5-2) threw a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts and one walk for the Irish (8-15), who have won three in a row.
Kevin Barry hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning, after the third-seeded Lakers (13-7) had closed to 3-2.
Ursuline will meet Columbiana in the Cene Park district Monday at 4:30 p.m.
The Irish had three homers -- one each by Conkey, Barry and Cliff Panezich -- to lead 3-0 after four innings.
In the top of the fifth Casey Romanowski homered for the Lakers to make it 3-2, but Barry answered in the bottom of the inning to make it 5-2.
Conkey finished with three hits and two RBIs, Barry and Brad Borghetti each had two hits, while Panezich drove in two runs.
Champion 8, Grand Valley 5
CHAMPION -- The Golden Flashes scored five runs in the first inning -- all with two outs -- in their victory in a Div. III sectional final.
Alan Stevens had three hits and two RBIs, while Brian Smith and Mark Kish each added two hits to lead the Golden Flashes' attack.
Kish (6-0) also earned the victory, striking out seven and walking four in four innings.
Champion (16-3) will play Warren JFK in a district semifinal Monday at Cene Park.
Regular season
STRUTHERS -- Dean Palombaro went 3-for-3 with two triples and three RBIs to lead Cardinal Mooney to a 12-2 victory over Campbell Memorial at Cene Park.
The Cardinals (13-11) also got three hits each from Mike Babyak and Jeff Hehr and two hits each from Brian Drummond and Mike McDermott.
Drummond drove in four runs and Hehr two for the Cardinals, who will travel to Marlington today for a tournament game.
Ed Morales needed 66 pitches to record the complete-game victory.
Struthers 7, Niles 3
NILES -- Struthers finished its season by defeating Metro Athletic Conference rival Niles at Waddell Park.
Billy Bowes had two singles and Mike Dubos struck out seven to earn the victory for the Wildcats (6-16).
Mike Conroy singled, doubled and tripled for the Red Dragons, who will play Chaney in a tournament game today at Cene Park.
Crestwood 9, Southeast 8
RAVENNA -- Crestwood scored three runs in the seventh inning to edge the Pirates in a Portage County League game.
Bart Gray singled twice and doubled and Bobby Bergman doubled twice for Southeast (8-13, 4-8 PCL).
