Army Reserve company returns from duty

FARRELL, Pa. -- The 347th Quartermaster Company, called to active duty March 14, is coming home.
The 165-member pipeline company, which is designated as a petroleum supply company, is based at the Pendel-Caminiti Army Reserve Center here.
It left Farrell for Fort Dix, N.J., but never got sent overseas during the war in Iraq. It is being demobilized with members returning to Pendel-Caminiti around 5 p.m. Friday.
The 347th, part of the 99th Army Reserve command, was the only unit activated from the Farrell center. It includes a 42-member detachment from St. Marys, Pa.
The company had also been activated in Desert Shield-Desert Storm in 1990 and spent its tour in Saudi Arabia.
Operation Homecoming, a private affair for the reservists and their families and friends, is set for 3 p.m. Saturday at the West Middlesex VFW. There will be games and activities for children, dinner and dancing until 10 p.m.
