GIRARD
May 11
Auto theft: A man reported his 1987 Pontiac Sunbird missing from his driveway in the 700 block of Trumbull Avenue.
Auto theft: A 1994 GMC Jimmy was stolen from a driveway in the 300 block of Ohio Avenue.
Drugs: After responding to suspicious activity at Kuzman's Bar, 1025 S. State St., police arrested a Shannon Road man on two warrants charging him with possession of drug abuse instruments. Officers say they found a suspected crack pipe in his pocket.
May 12
Vandalism/attempted theft: Someone smashed a vehicle's driver's-side window while the car was parked on East Kline Street, before trying to steal a set of speakers and compact-disc player, which also was damaged.
May 13
Theft: Someone entered Patrone Bros. Landscaping & amp; Lawn Maintenance, 1752 N. State St., and removed two Japanese maple trees.
LIBERTY
May 5
Theft: An employee at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, 196 Colonial Drive, reported someone cashed several missing personal checks.
Theft/breaking and entering: Several employees at Paranoid Stables, 4738 Logan Way, reported someone broke in and stole saddles, tack boxes, grooming supplies and other horse-related equipment.
May 6
Assault: A woman in the 1500 block of Wilson Avenue reported a pupil at W.S. Guy Middle School, 4115 Shady Road, assaulted her daughter on a school bus. The victim said her head was pushed against a window several times.
Theft: Someone broke into a car in the 1000 block of Colonial Drive and stole a color monitor and receiver to a TV/videocassette recorder unit.
May 8
Arrest: After pulling over a car on Logan Gate Road for missing a headlight, police arrested a 46-year-old Youngstown man on one count of failure to appear in court to face a theft charge.
Theft: Someone broke a truck's passenger-side window in the 2900 block of Northview Boulevard and removed a two-way radio.
Criminal damage: A man in the 200 block of Colonial Drive reported someone slashed two of his vehicle's tires.
Arrest: After stopping a vehicle for having its license plate improperly displayed, police charged a Youngstown man with driving under a suspended license and drug abuse. Officers say they found two bags of suspected marijuana in the car.
May 9
Arrest: Police arrested a 31-year-old Youngstown woman at the Mahoning County Jail on warrants charging her with forgery and theft.
Criminal damage: Someone threw three rocks through a window at Quadax Inc., 2911 Northview Blvd.
May 10
Recovered property/theft: A woman reported her purse stolen from a shopping cart at Goodwill Industries, 2747 Belmont Ave. The purse was found, but $30, a cellular phone and various credit cards were missing.
Arrest: After a traffic stop on state Route 193, a 34-year-old Youngstown man was charged with failure to appear in court to answer a probation violation charge. He also was issued five traffic citations.
Arrest: After a traffic stop on Belmont Avenue, a 20-year-old Youngstown man was charged with theft.
May 11
Felonious assault: After responding to a fight at Spag's Bar, 5718 Belmont Ave., police charged a Hartsville man, 26, with complicity to felonious assault, obstructing official business and menacing; a Vienna man, 22, with complicity to felonious assault; and a Columbus man, 22, with three counts of felonious assault. Witnesses reported one suspect used a knife to threaten a man and cut another man in the throat.
Criminal mischief: A woman in the 1300 block of Virginia Trail reported damage to her lawn.
Assault: A Berea, Ohio, woman alleged her boyfriend grabbed her hair and punched her in the stomach during an argument outside Choice's Niteclub, 1620 Motor Inn Drive.
Breaking and entering: A man reported someone broke his truck's vent window and removed a digital camera, a cellular phone, a citizens' band radio and about $220 in change while the truck was parked at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex, 1620 Motor Inn Drive.
May 12
Arrest: A 40-year-old Vienna man was charged with contempt of court and various traffic violations.
Arrest: A 69-year-old Youngstown man was arrested at St. Elizabeth Health Center, 1044 Belmont Ave., and charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public indecency.
