Avalon Holdings Corp.reports first-quarter loss
HOWLAND -- Avalon Holdings Corp. reported a loss of $1 million, or 26 cents a share, for the first quarter, compared with a loss of $1.6 million, or 43 cents a share, in the same quarter last year.
The Howland-based company said Wednesday that operating revenues were $14 million last quarter, compared with $15.7 million in the same quarter last year. The company's holdings include Avalon Lakes Golf Course and Dart Trucking.

YOUNGSTOWN -- United Community Financial Corp. has added James Sisek to the Butler Wick Corp. board of directors. Sisek is president and chief executive of Butler Wick Trust Co. The Poland resident is an attorney and a certified trust financial adviser. United Community is the holding company for Home Savings and Loan Co. and Butler Wick.
