Man reports theft of money from home

CAMPBELL -- A 59-year-old city man told police he discovered $5,000 in cash missing from a metal locker in his bedroom when he returned home from work.
According to a police report, the door to the locker had been torn from its hinges and the contents of the locker were strewn about the ransacked room Tuesday.
A steel bar that had been in the garage was also found in the room, the report states.
There were no signs of forced entry, but the man told police he kept an extra key to the house elsewhere on the property.
The man also told police that workers from a garage door company were at the residence installing a new door most of the day. The report also says a neighbor reported seeing two men inside the victim's garage.
