Former YSU star Renauld Ray gets hired at Western Reserve



BERLIN CENTER --The Western Reserve Local Board of Education approved coaches for fall and winter sports at its recent meeting at the high school.
Renauld Rayof Youngstown and former YSU standout, was hired as assistant football coach at a salary of $3,336 to complete the coaching staff in that sport.
He will join head coach Mike Kopachy of Youngstown; assistants John Armeni and Allen Thorne, both of Youngstown; John Koulianos of Canfield; and Gary Ferrando, a resident of the school district. None teach in the district.
Julie Roussel of Austintown was hired as head volleyball coach at a salary of $4,700, while teachers Kristine Hughes and Joyce Matzye were hired as junior high coaches at salaries of $2,502 each.
Judy Gregory of East Palestine will serve as a varsity volunteer assistant.
Re-hired for boys basketball were head coach Steve Miller at a salary of $5,559, junior varsity coach Dan Ewing at a salary of $3,336, and freshman coach Jeff Young at a salary of $2,906. All are teachers in the district.
Eric Kalina, a resident of the school district, was re-hired as head girls basketball coach at a salary of $5,559. Tracie Nicholudis, a teacher at Ellsworth Elementary, was hired to serve as junior varsity coach at a salary of $3,336.
