Police hope to question shooting victim
HUBBARD -- A police investigator is hoping to question either today or Wednesday a shooting victim found along a rural township road.
Timothy Wyland, 35, of Hallock-Young Road, Lordstown, remains in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, being treated for multiple gunshot wounds.
Detective Mike Begeot said Wyland is stable, and he wants to interview him.
Wyland was found about 11 p.m. Sunday lying along the side of Poplar Avenue off Jacobs Road in the southeast portion of the township.
Police responded after neighbors reported hearing shots fired in the area. If police hadn't been contacted, Begeot said today, Wyland may have died from loss of blood.
The state's Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation helped township police Monday in processing the area where Wyland was found. Nothing significant was found there, Begeot said.
According to initial reports, police had said a dark car containing two women may have been involved.
"I don't know that to be good information," Begeot said.
The detective said the motive is unknown.
