Man is accused in burglaries at 3 businesses
AUSTINTOWN -- Police arrested a Kirk Road man accused of burglarizing three township businesses.
Police charged Donald Mulholland, 18, with breaking and entering, vandalism and two counts of receiving stolen property. All of the charges are felonies. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of receiving stolen property.
Police said Mulholland broke into the Kirk Road Car Wash on Saturday morning, and Raccoon Road Beer and Wine and Alfredo's Pizza on South Raccoon Road on Sunday morning. He is accused of stealing cash, lottery tickets, and a check book.
Police say they tracked down the suspect using the license plate number of a car that was at Giant Eagle on Saturday morning.
The men in the car came into the store and put $600 in coins into a machine that gives cash in exchange for loose change. An officer working security at the store wrote down the car's license plate number.
Police said the number led them to Mulholland, who was staying at a Deer Creek apartment. Police said they searched the apartment Monday and found several of the items reported stolen from the three businesses. Mulholland was at the apartment and was arrested.
