CORTLAND -- Lakeview school officials had answers at Monday night's school board meeting to questions raised last month about the reorganization of schools and bus routes.
Superintendent Matthew Chojnacki said Nancy Krygowski will be middle school principal and Dennis Chupak will be Bazetta Elementary principal next year.
No other principal assignments will change.
Also changing next year are the arrival and dismissal times at Cortland and Bazetta elementaries and Lakeview Middle School.
The elementary school day will begin at 8:40 a.m. and end at 3:24 p.m. Middle school pupils will arrive at 7:50 a.m. and be dismissed at 2:38 p.m.
These pupils will ride the same buses as high school students despite concerns voiced by parents at the April school board meeting.
High school students will continue to begin their day at 7:37 a.m. and end it at 2:28 p.m.
Kindergarten teacher
Chojnacki said he has not decided on all teacher assignments for next year, but he expects to know by the end of next week.
He also said the school district will hire an additional half-time kindergarten teacher to accommodate an incoming kindergarten class that is slightly larger than anticipated.
The school board will hire that teacher at its meeting at 7 p.m. June 23.
All future board meetings will begin at 7 p.m. to allow more people to attend.
