EAST PALESTINE Officials mull mayor pay cut
EAST PALESTINE -- The mayor's post will pay half as much beginning in November if council approves a measure to be introduced at its next meeting.
Councilman Scott Rauch asked at council's Monday meeting that legislation be prepared to reduce the mayor's salary to $300 per month.
Rauch said the mayor's salary doesn't need to be as much now because the city abolished mayor's court about a year ago.
Mayor Sunny Hull said he favors the legislation, which is likely to be ready for council's June 9 meeting.
If passed, it will take effect in November.
