COLUMBUS -- Jeff Cunningham and Brian McBride scored first-half goals as the Columbus Crew beat the winless Colorado Rapids 2-0 on Saturday night.
Jon Busch made three saves for his seventh career shutout.
Columbus (3-1-2) won for the first time at home in three tries to push its Eastern Conference-leading points total to 11.
Colorado (0-3-1) is last in the league with one point and has scored only three goals. Colorado had the better scoring chances early with Mark Chung and Pablo Mastroeni barely missing from long range. But, Ross Paule's steal at midfield lead to Cunningham's goal in the 25th minute, and a change in momentum.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Clint Mathis scored goals in consecutive games for the first time in two years, leading the MetroStars past D.C. United. Mathis fired a high spot past goalkeeper Nick Rimando in the 42nd minute to help the MetroStars (3-1-1) to their third straight victory.
D.C. United, coming off three straight ties, fell to 0-2-3.
Revolution 2, Galaxy 0
FOXBORO, Mass. -- Brian Kamler and Taylor Twellman each scored in a seven-minute span in the second half to give New England the win.
The defending MLS champion Galaxy, winless in five matches (0-4-1), were limited to four shots and two corner kicks.

WASHINGTON -- Abby Wambach had the first three-goal game in Washington franchise history as the Freedom beat the Philadelphia Charge, 4-1. The hat trick for Wambach, who has five goals against Philadelphia in four career games, was also the seventh in league history.
Mia Hamm also scored for Washington (4-0-1), which improved to 11-0-3 in its last 14 regular season games dating to last June.
Jen Tietjen-Prozzo scored the only goal for Philadelphia (0-4).

ATLANTA -- Maribel Dominguez scored in the 75th minute to give the Atlanta (2-1-2) the tie.
Julie Fleeting opened the scoring for San Diego (2-1-2) in the 67th minute, giving her goals in four straight games.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Krista Davey scored in the 89th minute to give New York the victory.
Christie Welsh and Joey Peters also scored for the Power (3-3). Maren Meinert scored twice for the Breakers (3-2-1).
