Man hurt at IGS Industries
YOUNGSTOWN -- Scott M. Dregich, 23, of Charles Avenue, Boardman, was injured early today when his left foot became trapped under an 11,000-pound forklift at IGS Industries, 215 Sinter Court, police said. Dregich and the forklift operator work for Dines L. Doorlites Ltd., which rents space at IGS, reports show. At 1:30 a.m., the fire department used an air bag lift to raise the forklift off the victim's foot, and he was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center. Witnesses told police the accident was caused by horseplay. The forklift operator told police that Dregich grabbed the right side of the forklift, the rear bar support, in an attempt to get a ride and was told to let go and get back to work. Thinking Dregich had let go, the forklift operator backed up. Dregich was then trapped under the machine, police said.
