Tree falls on fourin New Castle
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Four people were taken to Jameson Hospital after high winds caused a tree to fall on their car in New Castle.
Police said Eric Squicquero, 29, of R.D. 6, Frew Mill Road, New Castle; Stephanie Sager, 34; and Amber and Ashley Sager, no ages available, were taken to Jameson Hospital. No information on their conditions was available this morning.
Police said Squicquero was driving a Ford Crown Victoria south on North Jefferson Street in the 500 block about 4:20 p.m. Sunday when a tree fell on the vehicle. Firefighters had to free Stephanie Sager, the front-seat passenger, from the wreckage.
All across Mercer and Lawrence counties, officials reported numerous trees and limbs down because of the high winds, with power outages in both counties.
Bart Spagnola, a Penn Power spokesman, said crews worked Sunday and through the night to restore power "all over." He said that just as crews would restore power to 50 or 60 customers, 30 to 40 would lose power.
