PASTEL SOCIETY OF AMERICA
This exhibition, curated by New Jersey painter Gary Erbe, features works by members of the Pastel Society of America (PSA). The organization, housed at New York City's National Arts Club, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

PAYNE SPIERS STUDIOS: THE LIFE OF CHRIST (SALEM)
This beautiful exhibit features hand-painted original stained-glass designs (1890-1930) from the renowned Payn-Spiers Studios (Paterson, New Jersey). Many of the studies included in the show were ultimately completed for churches throughout the country.

MANOLO VALDES IN AMERICA (TRUMBULL)
Works in two and three dimensions by this internationally renowned Spanish artist are included in the exhibition, the first in America since Valdes' Guggenheim retrospective in Bilbao, Spain.

LINDA FITZ GIBBON
Recent ceramic works comprise this exhibition of three-dimensional art by a talented California artist. The installation includes themes of portraiture, whimsical themes of children's literature and works based upon the works of historic artists from around the world.

RAPOPORT: DRAWINGS AND SCULPTURE
This exhibition of expressionist art features works in graphite and pastels along with plaster sculpture by a European-born artist. The exhibition was organized with the assistance of Peter and Alexandra Rose and is made possible in part by Home Savings of Youngstown.

This exhibition features photographs created as a result of a journey to Beijing by members of the Youngstown State University Art Department.

NORMAN MERCER: SCULPTURE (BUTLER WALKWAY GALLERIES)
Norman Mercer's work in cast polymer is unique in its geometric construction, brilliant color and incredible craftsmanship. This exhibition of the artist's works can be found in naturally lighted areas through the Butler Institute's walkway areas as well as in the Butler's Beecher Center Wing.

SHU-MIN LIN: GLASS CEILING AND OTHER WORKS (FLAD GALLERY, BEECHER CENTER
WING)
Shu-Min Lin's holographic masterworks have been exhibited and admired world-wide. His installation work "Glass Ceiling," which is included in the Butler show, was presented in 2001 at the Venice Biennale.

ANDREW PEPPER (BEECHER WING WALKWAY GALLERIES)
This installation by a London based technology artist features work that combines holograms with other digitally created images. A reception to honor Andrew Pepper is planned for Sunday, May 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Butler Institute.

THE PILOT HILL COLLECTION OF CONTEMPORARY ART
John and Jane Fitz Gibbon's California home has been a retreat, salon and setting for artists for more than half a century. This exhibition, drawn from the Fitz Gibbon's personal collection, includes works by such noted artists as Diebenkorn, Bishoff and Linhares.

THE 67TH NATIONAL MIDYEAR SHOW
The annual Midyear Show, a juried exhibition, features works in all paint media by artists from across the nation. This year's show was judged by distinguished American painter John Alexander.
