When Denny Yanke's mother, Dorothy, died in 1996, she left him more than just a few personal effects. She left the Canfield man 400 inspirational poems, some of which were about him. He also found a note in which his mother wrote of her secret dream of seeing her poetry published.

Writing workshop
BOARDMAN -- The May creative writing workshop directed by author Jo Anne Cassity will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Copperfield and Twist Bookstore in Market Square Plaza, 7050 Market St., Boardman. Attendance is $15 per person.
The workshop will cover a variety of topics concerning writing and how to contact publishers and editors. The focus of this month's workshop is dialogue.
