Train show canceled
Damage from a recent snowstorm in Maryland has forced cancellation of the "Fair of the Iron Horse 175, Festival of Trains," organizers have announced.
The event celebrating the 175th anniversary of American railroading had been scheduled June 28 through July 3 at the Baltimore and Ohio (B & amp;O) Railroad Museum in Baltimore.
Wind and the weight of snow collapsed the museum's 1884 roundhouse and did "catastrophic" damage to the collection inside, according to Jim Brady, chairman of the museum board.

Artist puts muralson California buses
According to the Public Works Department in San Luis Obispo, Calif., the town has the world's first hand-painted fine-art bus.
Local artist Liz Maruska finished painting her first city bus, which was put into service in December.
The response has been positive, and, "The transit manager is enthusiastic about the possibility of having all the buses painted in the future," she says.
The murals, featuring the area's green volcanic peaks, are painted with iridescent colors that change in the light as the bus moves. "I like my work to be out in the real world, not tucked away in a museum," she says.
