YOUNGSTOWN -- Temple Ark Doors Project, by John Johnson of Murray Hill Fine Woodworking, will be on display this week in the upper level gallery at Youngstown State University McDonough Museum of Art, Wick Avenue.
The project was commissioned by Sinai Temple of Champaign, Ill.
The four oak veneer doors, each of which are 7 feet wide and 12 feet tall, feature inlays of exotic hardwoods that reflect Jewish iconography, including the Eternal Flame, Jacob's Ladder and Prayer Shawls.

LL Cool J to perform
PITTSBURGH -- Rapper LL Cool J and R & amp;B group Dru Hill will sing at the 10th annual Juneteenth Celebration on June 15 at Chevrolet Amphitheatre at Station Square, Carson Street.

'The Meeting' at KSU
WARREN -- The birthday of Malcolm X will be observed with performances of the play "The Meeting" at 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and May 19 in Lecture Hall A at Kent State University Trumbull Campus, 4314 Mahoning Ave.
The play is presented by the college's theater department and Independent Black Minority Council.
The hour-long play is based on an imagined meeting between Malcolm X and another famous black leader, Dr. Martin Luther King.

Celebrating Schubert
BOARDMAN -- The brief but fruitful life of Austrian composer Franz Schubert will be celebrated in a concert by Seraphim Chorus and Chamber Orchestra at 4 p.m. next Sunday in Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St.
Conductor Jon Simsic will lead the ensemble in performances of "Ave Maria," the "Trout" Quintet in A Major and Mass in C Major, D. 452, among others.
Soloists will be soprano Corinne Morini; baritone Christopher Hutton; mezzo-soprano Megan Morris; and tenor Francisco Cano.
Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students and senior citizens.

Polka cruise and dance
PITTSBURGH -- Larry Walk of Youngstown, who's been the host of the "Happy Polkaland" radio show for 39 years, will mark the occasion with a four-hour polka cruise and dance next Sunday on the Gateway Clipper.
Boarding will begin at noon at the Station Square Dock. The cruise will be from 1-4 p.m.
Music will be by Ray Jay & amp; Carousels, Henny & amp; Versa V's and Li'l John's ATM Band.
