Pappas 50th is celebrated at dinner party

XFORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Rev. and Mrs. George T. Pappas, 13071 Cross Creek Blvd., formerly of Campbell, were honored May 4 at a dinner at the Holiday Inn, Boardman, on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the celebration were the couple's immediate family. Their children and their spouses are Thomas and Anna Pappas of Poland; Maria Theofilos of Warren; the Rev. Paul and Donna Pappas of Brookline, Mass; and Katina and James Tancabel of Boardman. Seven grandchildren complete their family.
The Rev. Pappas and the former Evangeline Stergiotis were married May 14, 1953, at Holy Cross Chapel in Brookline. He served as pastor of Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Campbell for 42 years until retiring in May 1997.
His wife retired in January 1997 from the Campbell City Schools, where she was a tutor and teacher's aide.
The couple belong to Archangel Michael church in Campbell and Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Florida.
