Neshannock officials approve funding for more sewer plans



NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Planning continues for sewage systems in Neshannock Township.
The township supervisors approved a $50,000 allowance for the sewer-engineering firm Hatch Mott and McDonald to continue the plans for sewer lines in the West Bank, Shenango Siphon and Millennium Park areas of the township.
Supervisor Chairman Gale Measel Jr. said this is part of a $7.7 million project.
He said the original project totaled $3 million and consisted of the West Bank and Shenango Siphon.
The Millennium Park was added after newly elected Gov. Ed Rendell selected the site as one of the areas to target for economic growth in Pennsylvania.
In other business, supervisors approved the hiring of four college students for summer employment at Pearson Park.
Richard Pearsall II was hired as park activities coordinator at a rate of $310.50 per week.
Cortny Kimmel and Jason Harcar will begin their second summer at the park at a rate of $5.30 per hour, and Joseph Canciello will begin at $5.15 per hour.
