AVOIDING CROWDS
Park strategies
You love theme parks, but can't abide crowds. Short of renting the entire park for yourself, is there any way to sidestep the mob scenes? Here are a few strategies that may help.
Go early in the season. July and August are the busiest. Try May or June. Even better is the week before Labor Day. Most kids are back in school.
Pick a cloudy day. Everyone wants to go on a sunny day. Clouds keep the crowds down.
Avoid weekends. Interestingly, Mondays aren't good, either. Try Tuesday through Thursday.
Go early in the day. Noon is too late. Be there at opening time, or even earlier. If you're there early, start in the back. When the gates open, head for the back of the park and make your way to the front. You'll have the back to yourself.
