Missing student is found
HUBBARD -- A 20-year-old Youngstown State University student missing three days was found by family members in Columbus.
Jennifer Duble, missing from her Hubbard home since Wednesday evening, was found shortly after midnight Saturday after she called her brother's roommate and asked for directions to his apartment.
Police reports say the roommate contacted the family and said he would make sure she didn't leave until they arrived.
Relatives, who had told police the woman is being treated for depression, drove to Columbus to retrieve her.
Middle school pupilto face expulsion hearing
LIBERTY -- A 15-year-old W.S. Guy Middle School pupils will face an expulsion hearing.
Police were called to the school at 12:30 p.m. Thursday after an administrator found a handwritten document labeled "My Hit List."
The list had the names of 30 eighth-grade pupils and three teachers.
According to reports, while police were comparing handwriting samples of pupils to the document, a female pupil questioned another pupil about discovery of the list.
Police said the only ones with knowledge of the list at the time were the police, the administrator and the document's creator.
When questioned, the pupil acknowledged creating the list, but only as a prank.
She was immediately suspended from classes and released to the custody of her grandmother.
An expulsion hearing will be set later.
3 men face chargesrelated to stolen ATVs
WARREN -- A police officer was injured when an all-terrain vehicle he was trying to stop drove into his cruiser and slammed the door against his face.
Eric Merkel was treated at a local hospital.
The driver of the ATV, John D. Rodgers, 22, of 1627 Woodbine Ave., was arrested after police spotted the vehicle parked at a house on East Avenue S.E. He is charged with resisting arrest, criminal trespass, failure to comply, receiving stolen property and felonious assault.
Two other men riding with Rodgers along the railroad tracks in southwest Warren about 5:30 p.m. Sunday also face charges.
Raymond D. Dickey, 18, of 444 Belmont Ave. N.W., was arrested at the site of the collision on charges of receiving stolen property, failure to comply and criminal trespass.
Wayne B. Mitchell, 22, of 445 Orchard Place N.E., was captured later hiding in the attic of his house and arrested on charges of receiving stolen property, failure to comply, obstruction of justice and criminal trespass.
All the ATVs were reported stolen from Champion.
Woman reports beingbitten during assault
LIBERTY -- An Austintown woman told police she was bitten at a local motel by a woman she knows.
The 19-year-old Four Mile Run Road woman told police she was staying in the Knights Inn on Motor Inn Drive when she answered a knock at the door around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
She said she was attacked by a 22-year-old Youngstown woman, with whom she's been feuding over the Youngstown woman's relationship with her estranged husband.
The Austintown woman suffered bite marks to her left arm and cheek and a torn fingernail.
No charges have been filed. The investigation continues.
Stepped-up patrols
HUBBARD -- Township police will step up patrols this month.
From May 19 through June 1, police will concentrate on child passenger restraint and seat belt laws.
In late May, the department will adopt a zero-tolerance policy for those not buckling up.
Senior Olympics
YOUNGSTOWN -- The 2003 Senior Olympics of Northeast Ohio will be June 11-25 at various locations throughout the Mahoning Valley.
This year's events are archery, bowling, horseshoes, track and field, swimming, golf, miniature golf, boccie, par 3 golf and tennis.
Deadline for registration is May 23. Registration forms are available at local senior centers or from the District XI Area Agency on Aging.

Tires slashed
SALEM -- A woman said someone slashed all the tires on her car while it was parked overnight at a business on the 300 block of South Ellsworth Avenue.
The crime was reported about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
