PHILADELPHIA Cop accused by woman of sexual assault

The officer is a member of the mayor's security detail.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- A police officer assigned to the security detail for the mayor of Philadelphia is accused of sexually assaulting a female acquaintance, police said.
No charges have been filed against the detective, who was put on administrative detail after the woman contacted police Friday, said Sgt. Roland Lee, a department spokesman.
"We will handle this case like we handle any other case," said Police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson, who headed the mayoral security detail under Mayor W. Wilson Goode. "There's nothing special about this case other than that it's a police officer."
The 31-year-old woman contacted police about 1:30 a.m. Friday, saying she had been assaulted Tuesday in a residence in the city's West Oak Lane section, Lee said.
She was taken to a hospital, while the officer was questioned Friday by the department's special victims unit. The internal affairs unit will also investigate the complaint, police said.
Johnson said police believe there could have been multiple assaults and that the most recent assault was Tuesday.
Details not given
Police did not disclose the officer's name or say how long he had been on the force. He has been on the security detail since Mayor John F. Street took office in January 2000.
"Although we are not making any presumptions about guilt or innocence, the allegation of sexual assault by a member of my security detail is something that I take very seriously and I am very troubled by it," Street said in a statement issued by his office Friday night. "Sexual crimes against women are particularly deplorable to me."
