Own-net header doesn't help Revolution in loss

FOXBORO, Mass. -- Brian Ching scored a goal and had a role in another as the San Jose Earthquakes beat the New England Revolution 2-0 on Saturday to improve to 3-0-1.
In the 42nd minute, New England defender Carlos Llamosa went up for a header with Ching and headed the ball into his own net.
Seven minutes into the second half, Ching headed in a cross from Brian Mullan, beating goalkeeper Adin Brown from 12 yards.
It was San Jose's fifth consecutive win over New England (1-2-1).

VILLANOVA, Pa. -- Krista Davey scored during second-half injury time to give the New York Power a 5-4 victory over the Philadelphia Charge on Saturday.
Christie Welsh had two goals and Justi Baumgardt and Tiffeny Milbrett also scored for New York, which has won two straight games after opening 0-3.
Marinette Pichon and Stacey Tullock each had a goal and an assist for Philadelphia (0-3-0). Kelly Smith, and Deliah Arrington also had goals for the Charge.
Spirit 1, Breakers 1
FOXBORO, Mass. -- Julie Fleetings scored in the 62nd minute as San Diego rallied to tie Boston.
Fleetings headed home a cross from Julie Foudy for her third goal of the season for the Spirit (2-1-1). The Breakers (3-1-1) opened the scoring in the fourth minute on Dagny Mellgren's fifth goal.
