EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New Jersey Devils are going to the Eastern Conference finals for the third time in four years.
Grant Marshall scored on a rebound at 11:12 of the third overtime and the Devils eliminated the Tampa Bay Lightning with a 2-1 victory in Game 5 on Friday night.
The Devils will face the winner of the Philadelphia-Ottawa series for the right to advance to the Stanley Cup finals.
The Flyers and Senators are tied 2-2 in their best-of-seven series.
It will be the Devils' fourth appearance in the conference finals since 1995, and they haven't lost one -- winning two Cups and losing a third in a deciding Game 7 to Colorado in 2001.
Scott Niedermayer also scored for New Jersey and Martin Brodeur, who only allowed eight goals in the five games with the Lightning, made 40 saves in the second-longest game in Devils' history.
Nikita Alexeev scored for the Lightning, who reached the conference semifinals for the first time in their 11-year existence.
Tampa Bay rallied from an 0-2 series deficit to beat Washington in the opening round, but never threatened New Jersey after losing the first two games in this series.
The Lightning got a great goaltending effort in the final game from John Grahame, who started in place of Nikolai Khabibulin. Grahame made 46 saves in his first playoff action, and wasn't to blame on either goal.
Canucks 3, Wild 2, OT
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Brent Sopel sent a slap shot under Manny Fernandez's glove on an extended power play with 4:08 left in overtime to give Vancouver a victory over Minnesota.
The Canucks lead the series 3-1, with Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinal series on Monday in Vancouver.
Marian Gaborik scored twice for the Wild, who are 1-4 at home in the postseason.
Filip Kuba was assessed a major penalty for hitting Todd Bertuzzi in the eye with his stick, giving the Canucks a four-minute power play midway through the overtime period.
Darby Hendrickson forced Jovanovski into a turnover, but his breakaway shot was stopped by Cloutier.
With 18 seconds left on the man-advantage, Sopel took a pass from Markus Naslund, wound up and sent the puck past Fernandez.
