XColumbiana County Buckeye Dairy Boosters will crown its 25th Dairy Princess at a 1:30 p.m. luncheon Saturday at Taste of Country in Lisbon. The winner will be active at the Columbiana County Fair attending a variety of meetings, events and activities to promote dairy products. Former dairy princesses will be honored at the luncheon.
DINNER-DANCES
XAustintown Fitch Football Parents Club will sponsor a Night Out in Austintown featuring a buffet-style dinner, dance and silent auction from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Regency House, 3704 Mahoning Ave., Austintown. The auction will include items from the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Scrappers and Pioneer Waterland, and Falcon Cooking cookbooks will be available. XLinks Inc, Youngstown Chapter, will hold an "Evening of Elegance, Art and Jazz" from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at The Butler Institute of American Art on Wick Avenue, Youngstown. In addition to dinner and dancing, Al Bright, noted artist, will paint to jazz music played by Nathan Davis and Tomorrow. LECTURES
XMahoning Valley Historical Society will offer a brown-bag lunch lecture from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the MVHS Archival Library, 648 Wick Ave., Youngstown, behind the Arms Family Museum of Local History. Steffon Jones will speak about his experiences researching and locating the graves of African-American Civil War soldiers in local cemeteries. The public is invited to take a lunch. Admission is free, and coffee and a snack will be provided.
SALES
XBrownlee Woods Presbyterian Church, Midlothian and Irma avenues, will hold a thrift sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 13 and 14. Wednesday will be $1-a-bag day.
XJohn Calvin-St. Paul United Church of Christ, 1951 Mathews Road, Youngstown, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday.
XOhltown United Methodist Church, 2001 Ohltown Road, Austintown, will hold a trash and treasure sale and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. No clothing will be sold. Lunch will be available.

SPECIAL EVENTS
XEverlife Worship Center Assemblies of God, 815 Wilson Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor its sixth annual appreciation banquet honoring the valley's minority funeral directors. The black-tie event is scheduled for 7 p.m. May 25 at the Brentford House, 737 Myron St., Hubbard. Tickets are $20 and are available by calling the center at (330) 744-3172.
XWarren Junior League will present a Decorators' Showcase Sept. 18-20 at the historic Kinsman House in conjunction with Trumbull County Heritage Festival in Warren. Designers, decorators, art and floral-business owners are being sought to help in the restoration of the Kinsman House. Space also will be provided within the house for merchants wishing to show their wares. An invitational patrons' night will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 19. There also will be music and refreshments on the grounds of the house. The house will be open to the public Sept. 19 and 20; tickets are $5 a person and will be available at the door.
