YOUNGSTOWN -- Bishop Thomas Tobin of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown will have prayer service for the residents, family members and staff at Liberty Health Care at 2 p.m. May 13. A social will follow.
Spring banquet set
HUBBARD -- Crossing Paths Christian TV Ministry of Hermitage will have its spring banquet at the Brentford House in Hubbard at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Chaplain Ray Giunta will give his testimony of how he became a Christian after he was abandoned by this mother, about his career as a criminal investigator and cofounder of We Care Ministries. He is the author of the book "God at Ground Zero." The buffet is free, but individuals may sponsor a table of eight for $80. Reservations must be made by Monday. Call (724) 981-7777.
Parish mission planned
STRUTHERS -- St. Nicholas Catholic Church will have a parish mission at 7 p.m. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday followed by a social. The Rev. Britto Berchmans from the Archdiocese of Chicago will be the presenter. The topics are: Sunday, "Sin and Repentance"; Monday, "Money and Materialism"; and Tuesday, "Happiness and Fulfillment."

Mother's Day dinner
YOUNGSTOWN -- Young mothers who have made significant achievements will be honored when the Northeast Ohio District Young People Institute has a Mother's Day Banquet at 3 p.m. next Saturday at Mt. FOWLER -- Alternative healer Jonathan Davis of Asheville, N.C., has degrees in psychology, human services and ministerial counseling and 25 years of experience. Survey numbers
YOUNGSTOWN -- Catholic Charities Services of the Diocese of Youngstown recently completed the 2002 Annual Survey for Catholic Charities USA that shows giving is up.
The group helped a total of 38,126 people. That was a 75 percent increase in the total number served from 2001 to 2002. Housing counseling services offered through Catholic Charities Housing Opportunities also experienced a 25 percent increase from 2001 to 2002.
St. Lucy events
CAMPBELL -- St. Lucy Parish is having a variety of events this month, including recitation of the Rosary at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday in May. At 10 a.m. Sunday, there will be First Mass with Holy Communion. A reception will follow. A St. Anthony Novena will be said from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Young children at Zion Christian School will host a luncheon for their mothers at 11:30 a.m. May 11. The theme is "Honor Thy Mother."
