NASW holds annual recognition banquet

NILES -- The National Association of Social Workers' annual recognition banquet was held April 25 in Applewood Gardens at Vernon's Cafe.
Catherine Zapka, a licensed social worker and permanency planning specialist with Northeast Ohio Adoption Services in Warren, was honored for outstanding service in her profession.
Zapka has served NOAS in that capacity since 2000 and has been a board member of NASW for three years. She also served on the National Leadership Identification Committee.
She graduated summa cum laude from Youngstown State University in 2000. She and her husband, Ron, live in Weathersfield Township. They have a son and daughter.
