CANFIELD -- The annual Greater Youngstown Italian Fest will be July 17-20 at the Canfield Fairgrounds.
Applications are now being accepted for the following festival participants:

Carnation sales to helpthose on military duty
YOUNGSTOWN -- Forum Health will be sponsoring the "Operation Communication" carnation sale on Tuesday to benefit employees and their family members who are on active military duty.
Red, white or blue carnations will be available for $1 each or three for $2.50.
Profits from the carnation sale will be used to purchase packages that contain prepaid phone cards and pre-stamped postcards.
The packages will then be distributed directly to Forum Health employees who have family members serving in the military.
The sale begins at 10 a.m. and will take place in the Northside Medical Center main lobby, the Trumbull Memorial Hospital main lobby and ground floor elevator bank, and the Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital cafeteria.
The sale is open to the public and will continue until all carnations are sold.
Ground to be brokenfor elementary school
NEWTON FALLS -- A groundbreaking ceremony for the school district's new elementary school for grades 3 through 6 will be Monday at 10 a.m. at 909 Milton Blvd., behind the high school.
Superintendent Linda Clapp will preside, with the invocation by the Rev. Jane-Anne E. Clarke.
Rally in stadium to seeksupport for school levy
HOWLAND -- There will be a rally at 6 p.m. Monday in the high school stadium in support of a school levy.
Free hot dogs and drinks will be served.
Howland School District is seeking a five-year, 5-mill levy on Tuesday's primary election ballot.
Hazardous materials
The Green Team's annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection will be Saturday at the Canfield Fairgrounds dairy barn area. B2
