HELOISE Hint helps avoid missing your must-see TV shows
Dear Heloise: This hint can be done either once a week or once each day, whichever is more convenient for you. Take your television guide from your newspaper, etc., and highlight the programs you'd like to watch. There's less chance of missing something that you really want to watch. A reader, via e-mail
I think everyone has missed a program they wanted to watch, and your hint would help solve that problem for everyone. Heloise

Dear Heloise: I think I have the best tip yet for identifying your luggage. I got some fabric paint pens and turned my two grandchildren loose to paint their pictures and butterflies in bright colors on my plain black bag, which used to look like every other black bag. It makes me happy every time I see my bag coming, because I think of the fun my grandchildren had doing it, and I get so many comments from other travelers. What a great, fun idea, and my grandchildren think their grandmother is so cool for letting them paint all over her new black luggage. Fun memories for them to look back on someday. Me-Mi, via e-mail
Dear Heloise: Because my cell phone is not the new type (It doesn't have a display. -- Heloise) on which you can see the phone numbers that are stored, I have typed out a list of the people I call and the number (1-14 on my phone) assigned to each person's phone number. I pasted it on the inside of my cell-phone carrier. I don't have to remember numbers now -- I just check on my sheet. M.L. in Hobbs, N.M.
K.M. from Texas said that although she can store numbers in her cell phone, she hated scrolling through all of the entries to find the one she was looking for. So, she made a list of all her contact names and the corresponding numbers and then taped the list to the back of the phone. Now she can quickly glance at her list and get the speed-dial number she needs. Heloise
Sound off: A subject matter I would like to sound off about is people who have garage-yard sales. I'm all for being able to hold these sales and putting out signs to advertise the sale. They take the time to make up signs and post them, but don't take the time to take them down when the sale is over. This should also apply to candidates running for political office -- when their campaign is over, their signs should be removed. S.C., San Antonio
