BECKY SHER | Hype Stila deal: Hatbox with makeup

Far be it from us to pass up something in a cute package. Let's face it -- sometimes it IS what's on the outside that counts. Of course, it's always nice when there's something cool on the inside, too.
And that's the case with a brand-new cosmetics set from Stila, based on the new movie "Down With Love," which hits theaters in May. (You've heard of it -- it stars It Girl Ren & eacute;e Zellweger and hottie Ewan McGregor.) The film is a kitschy take on '60s flicks, and the makeup in Stila's set comes in a hatbox inspired by that crazy decade. Inside is a palette of shimmery eye shadows and blush, and a lip gloss that's -- get this -- chocolate-flavored. (It doesn't hurt that the brown gloss is universally flattering.) Pick up the set for 40 bucks at Sephora boutiques, www.sephora.com or www.gloss.com.
And not to overwhelm you with news, but while it's on your mind, check out the film's Web site, www.downwithlovemovie.com. There, you can register to win a chance to see the movie with 20 pals in a private screening, plus Stila makeup for you and your friends.
Stretchy style
Remember when the coolest girl in school showed up in homeroom one morning wearing a headband made out of a bra strap?
Whatever -- that's so two years ago. Do her one better by donning the newest in headwear trends -- a headband made from underwear elastic. (Yup, the same stuff that holds up your brother's BVDs.) Trendsetters are snapping up Undee Bandz left and right, and at $8 each, they're going for bottom dollar. (He-he.) The headbands come in all kinds of colors and patterns, from plain black and white to lavender with rhinestones. Look for them at select Spencer Gifts, Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom stores or check out www.toptrenz.com for more info.
