Jervises mark 60th anniversary at family dinner
XSHARON, Pa. -- Mr. and Mrs. Calvin P. Jervis of Sharon, formerly of Brookfield, were honored April 19 at a family dinner at the home of their granddaughter and her husband, Amber and Joshua Cross of Niles, in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Jervis and the former Alice M. McKnight were married April 24, 1943, at the Methodist parsonage in Hartford on the occasion of her parents 34th wedding anniversary.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired in 1987 from his business, Cal Jervis Floor & amp; Tile in Vienna. He also was engaged in full-time ministry with the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Hubbard, where he is an elder and the couple are members.
His wife, a homemaker, retired in 1987 from Riverview Manor, where she was an assistant manager.
The couple's children are Jane Meese of Cedar Springs, Mich.; Ted G. and Jinx Jervis of Brookfield; and Tim P. and Suzy Jervis of Hubbard. Two sons, Richard W. and Calvin Paul Jervis, are deceased. The couple also have 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
