Course: English Turn Golf & amp; Country Club, New Orleans (7,116 yards, par 72).
Purse: $5 million. Winner's share: $900,000.
Television: USA (Thursday-Friday, 4-6 p.m.) and CBS (Saturday-Sunday, 3-6 p.m.).
Last year: K.J. Choi became the first South Korean winner in PGA Tour history, finishing with a 5-under 67 for a four-stroke victory over Dudley Hart and Geoff Ogilvy.
Last week: Fred Couples won for the first time in five years, closing with a 67 for a four-stroke victory in the Houston Open. The 43-year-old Couples is he first former University of Houston player to win the event. He has 15 tour victories. Mark Calcavecchia, Stuart Appleby and Hank Kuehne tied for second.
Notes: Davis Love III, the 1995 winner, has three victories in nine starts this year and leads the money list with $3,685,645. ... Phil Mickelson, winless since the Greater Hartford Open in June, is making his fourth start in five weeks. He tied for 28th in the Houston Open. ... David Toms, a Louisiana native who played for LSU, won in 2001, finishing with a 64 for a two-stroke victory over Mickelson.
LPGA TOUR
Michelob Light Open at Kingsmill
Schedule: Thursday-Sunday.
Course: Kingsmill Golf Club, River Course, Williamsburg, Va. (6,285 yards, par 71).
Purse: $1.6 million. Winner's share: $240,000.
Television: ESPN (Friday, 1-3 p.m.; Saturday, 5-6:30 p.m.) and ESPN (Sunday, 2-4:30 p.m.).
Last year: Inaugural event.
Last week: Se Ri Pak won her 20th tour title, beating Australia's Shani Waugh on the fourth hole of a playoff in the Chick-fil-A Charity Championship. The South Korean star forced the playoff with a 15-foot birdie putt on the final hole of regulation.
Notes: Annika Sorenstam, preparing to play the PGA Tour's Colonial on May 22-25, tops the field along with Pak, Karrie Webb, Juli Inkster and Suzy Whaley, the club pro who will play in the PGA Tour's Greater Hartford Open. ... Anheuser-Busch dropped its PGA Tour event at Kingsmill last year in a cost-cutting move and replaced it with the LPGA Tour competition. The men played the course at 6,853 yards last year.
CHAMPIONS TOUR
Bruno's Memorial Classic
Schedule: Friday-Sunday.
Course: Greystone Golf and Country Club, Founder's Course, Hoover, Ala. (6,992 yards, par 72).
Purse: $1.4 million. Winner's share: $210,000.
Television: The Golf Channel (Friday, 5-7:30 p.m., 11 p.m.-1:30 a.m.) and CNBC (Saturday-Sunday, 6-8 p.m.).
Last year: Sammy Rachels won with a 10-foot birdie putt on the second hole of a playoff with Dana Quigley.
Last week: Bruce Lietzke won the Legends of Golf for his sixth victory since joining the tour in July 2001. Quigley and David Eger tied for second, a stroke back.
