MERCER COUNTY Judge sentences man in felony drug case



The judge sentenced three others to jail for various crimes.

MERCER, Pa. -- Judge Francis Fornelli of Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced Adrian Ivey, 24, to three to six years for felony possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver, six months to a year for resisting arrest and three months to a year for disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.
Judge Fornelli ordered the terms to be served consecutively at Ivey's sentencing hearing Tuesday. Ivey's last known address is listed as the Mercer County jail.
About the case
Court documents say Ivey was arrested April 16, 2002, on Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, on the drug charge. During the arrest, he tried to escape and two police officers had to wrestle him to the ground to handcuff him. Deputy sheriff David DeVenney suffered an elbow injury in the process and needed medical treatment.
Several others were also sentenced Tuesday.
UPamela Oris, 31, of Penn Avenue, Sharpsville, was sentenced to six months to a year for forgery and three months to a year for criminal conspiracy, both misdemeanors. Last November and December, she conspired with another woman to pass 12 counterfeit checks totaling $8,018 at Shop-N-Save, 2199 E. State St., Hermitage.
UJoseph Pumphrey, 44, of Butler Pike, Mercer, was sentenced to six months to two years in jail for access device fraud for using a credit card belonging to Valley Plumbing, 611 S. Irvine Ave., Sharon, to make $3,721 worth of purchases in the Hermitage and Sharon areas last July and August.
UClarence Zook Jr., 30, of the Lawrence County jail, New Castle, was sentenced to six months to a year in prison for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. On June 12, 2001, he repeatedly swung a baseball bat at a man and a woman at an East Main Street address in Grove City, court documents say.
