CLEVELAND -- Pupils from the Mahoning Valley won top prizes in every division of the Greater Cleveland Area 24 Math Game Championship in Gund Arena on Monday.
The championship pits pupils against one another on math functions in the least amount of time.
From among 200 children competing, winners were Nakkita Brown, McGuffey Elementary School, Warren, fourth/fifth-grade division; April Barlow, West Elementary, Youngstown, sixth-grade division; Kristi Mraz, Hillman Middle School, Youngstown, seventh/eighth-grade division; and Joseph Myers, Volney Rodgers Junior High School, Youngstown, platinum master.
Meeting about park
McDONALD -- A special park informational meeting will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. in council chambers to discuss what will be offered in the park this summer.
Residents are asked to bring ideas and suggestions for events for people of all ages.
Those who have ideas but who cannot attend Wednesday's meeting are asked to call Councilwoman Rose Yakubov at (330) 530-5122.

District 4 usesmost road salt ever
RAVENNA -- District 4 of the Ohio Department of Transportation, which includes Mahoning and Trumbull counties, say the district used more road salt this past winter than in any previous winter.
More than 172,000 tons of salt was used by District 4, which also includes Stark, Summit, Portage and Ashtabula counties, and more than 1 million gallons of brine to combat snow and ice.
District 4, which is responsible for nearly 5,000 road miles, spent more than $5 million on salt this past winter.
Trumbull County had 90 inches of snow and Mahoning had 75 inches.
Ashtabula had the most snow of any county in the district, with 140 inches.
Fund-raiser at Topsfor cancer society
HOWLAND -- A classic car show and autograph session with Ohio State football players will be some of the events at Tops Friendly Market Saturday at a fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society.
Offensive lineman Doug Datish, quarterback Justin Zwick, linebacker Bobby Carpenter and defensive lineman Mike Kudla will sign autographs from noon to 2 p.m.
Other attractions, including Howland police and fire department displays, raffles and food vendors, will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Motorcyclist charged
GIRARD -- A 32-year-old motorcyclist faces charges after a high-speed chase Monday afternoon.
Michael A. Dibble of Powers Avenue was to appear today in municipal court on charges of reckless operation, fleeing and eluding and having an expired driver's license.
Police reported spotting a cycle speeding on North State Street at about 12:30 p.m.
They reached 90 mph in pursuit into McKinley Heights, where Dibble was caught trying to hide, police said.
Boat show will bein mall parking lot
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Ravenna Marina will have a boat show in the Shenango Valley Mall parking lot Thursday through Sunday.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Up to 25 boats will be on display and available for purchase.
Anyone buying a boat during the show will also receive a $200 Shenango Valley Mall gift certificate.
In addition to the boat show, there will be a spring carnival Friday through May 11.
Rides and amusements will be open every day.
