Grand opening dates set for Struthers pizza shop
STRUTHERS -- Gonatas Pizza, 161 Lowellville Road, will hold a grand-opening celebration Monday, Tuesday and next Wednesday. The business is owned by Dennis Gonatas, a former Mahoning County sheriff's deputy, and his wife, Shari, who is director of education at Sylvan Learning Center in Boardman. The shop offers pizza, salads, soups and sandwiches. It offers carry-out orders only but has a gift shop with oils, spices and gift baskets.

Pfizer plans 4 closings
NEW YORK -- Pfizer Inc. is closing four sites near Chicago that employed 1,500 people and is shifting some employees out of Connecticut to cut costs in the wake of its $57 billion acquisition of Pharmacia Corp. The Chicago-area sites, which belonged to Pharmacia, will be closed over the next 18 months.
Daewoo to makefreezers for Maytag
NEWTON, Iowa -- Maytag Corp. said Daewoo Electronics Corp. will make top-freezer refrigerators exclusively for Maytag, cutting manufacturing costs. The Newton-based appliance maker plans to phase out production of top-freezer refrigerators at its Galesburg, Ill., plant, which employs 1,600.
Production of side-by-side refrigerators will be moved from Galesburg to Maytag's plant in Amana and to a new plant in Reynosa, Mexico.
